The Academic Year 2005-2006 will start in Algeria on September 10. The Minister of National Education held a meeting yesterday with governors of 48 wilayas of the country to revise the preparations for the new academic year. In the meeting, the Minister noted that a budget of 264 billion dinars was allocated for the new academic year compared to 127 billion dinar budget of the year 1997. The minister said that 200 billion dirhams of the education budget has been devoted for the creation of 400 new schools. 7,612,000 students are registered for the academic year in 22,783 schools.
