The first annual Middle East Broadcasters Conference and Exposition, MEB 2005, is set to become the most comprehensive media industry event in the Middle East. The Middle East Broadcasters (MEB) Association, the organizer of the event, expects over 6,000 broadcast professionals to attend MEB 2005 to participate in the event’s conferences, exhibitions, and awards ceremony. MEB 2005 will take place from December 8-10, 2005 at the opulent Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Center.
“The timing for this show could not be better,” said Ahmad Al Maaz,
president of MEB. “Broadcasting in the region has really taken off in the
last couple of years – 55 new stations went to air in the last year and a
half. Many of the over 200 stations in the Middle East are currently
preparing to upgrade their operations. MEB is ready to help them make this
transition.”
Arranged around the theme of “Setting New Standards in Broadcasting,” the
conference sessions at MEB 2005 will cover topics ranging from “Increasing
the Advertising Pie” to “Management of an All-News TV Station.” Over 30
leading media experts will speak at the conference.
MEB 2005 will feature three exhibitions – a broadcast technology
exhibition, a programming exhibition, and a talent showcase. One of the
highlights of the show will be a fully-functional High Definition (HD)
television station that will broadcast straight from the floor of the MEB
2005.
MEB 2005 will wrap up with a gala awards ceremony recognizing excellence in
Middle East television programming and production.
