ALBAWABA - At least 6 kids were killed after a school bus crashed with a train in South Africa, the government reported today.
According to the South African government, 19 other children were injured in the accident that took place on Wednesday afternoon. The death toll was raised to six kids after a child died of his wounds.
In detail, local media outlets reported that the crash took place near the village of Mafube, close to the city of Middelburg. The government said in a statement, "We cannot lose such young and innocent lives due to recklessness."
Meanwhile, the provincial transport department announced the death of another student and said: "The sixth learner succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at the nearby hospital."
On Wednesday, the school bus, with about 30 students on board, crossed a railway line when the train was approaching, furthermore, the bus driver and the train driver were also transported to hospital.
