550 Iranians Killed in Road Accidents in less than 20 Days

Road accidents throughout Iran have claimed 550 lives and caused over 6,000 injuries since March 21, marking the start of the new Persian calendar year, reported the official IRNA news agency, citing an official on Tuesday. 

Farshid Fariborzi, senior official with the State Terminal Organization, told IRNA that Iran is “home to most of the road accidents in the world.”  

He added that road accidents have been on the rise in recent years. 

Official reports said that some 250,000 road accidents occur annually in Iran – Albawaba.com
