ALBAWABA - French authorities announced evacuating five Afghan women from Pakistan to Paris after they were threatened by the Taliban, AFP reported citing French immigration authority chief Didier Leschi.

According to Leschi, the five women were expected to arrive in France on Monday. The evacuation order was made by French President Emmanuel Macron.

French immigration authority chief said: "Special attention is being paid to women who are primarily threatened by the Taliban because they have held important positions in Afghan society... or have close contacts with Westerners. This is the case for five women who will arrive today."

Since taking over power in Afghanistan, the Taliban government have been tightening the rules on women. Beauty salons were closed and women were barred from working.

Furthermore, the Taliban has closed all girls' schools across the country and banned girls from getting education.
