Edgar Masri, President & CEO of 3Com, and Gerri Elliot, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Worldwide Public Sector organization, will kick off the Jordan ICT Forum 2006 that takes place next week at the King Hussein Convention Centre at the Dead Sea, under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
The 4th Jordan ICT Forum, this year under the theme of 'Hosting the Future,' to be held on Dec 6-7, has attracted the attention of leading ICT experts from around the region and the world, with over 1000 ICT professionals expected to come together for two days of discussions about the rapidly growing ICT sector in the Middle East.
The Forum, organised by int@j (Information Technology Association of Jordan) and the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, is the Kingdom's premier international Information and Communications Technology industry event. The major topics for discussion this year include the growth of ICT in healthcare, the next steps in e-government, telecommunications opportunities across the region, outsourcing trends in the Middle East, regional innovation and entrepreneurship centers, regional media and telecom convergence, content development for the region, and ICT for security.
Over the past few years the region has witnessed rapid growth that has been characterized by dynamic new operators, a wide range of licensing opportunities and leading-edge IT entrepreneurs. Ongoing market liberalization, rapid take-up of the latest technologies and new, emerging markets have all contributed to the growth of ICT sector in the region.
Jordan has become the ideal gateway in the growing regional ICT industry as it offers a cost efficient and highly educated workforce, rapid pace of economic reform and political stability, excellent investment climate, competitive ICT environment and an advanced infrastructure.

int@j (Information Technology Association of Jordan) is an ICT industry-support association that embraces Jordan's ICT businesses, with a mission to promote their advancement on a local and international level, and enhance their capacity and performance. Gerri Elliott
Gerri Elliott is the corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Worldwide Public Sector organization, which includes over 1,400 sales professionals. In this key leadership role, Ms. Elliott focuses on creating innovative programs and solutions to address the unique needs of Public Sector customers such as advancing economic development, digital inclusion, lifelong learning and general quality of life for all citizens.
