Israeli occupation troops wounded Wednesday 28 Palestinians in the West Bank cities of Nablus and Jenin, medics and witnesses said.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli soldiers backed by tanks and armoured vehicles stormed the old city of Nablus and opened heavy machine gunfire on houses.

Medical sources reported that eight Palestinians including three children were moderately injured with live bullets in different parts of their bodies.

Meanwhile, Israeli tanks and bulldozers, under heavy machine gunfire shooting, swept at pre-dawn into Barta'a village, east of Jenin city, and launched a house-to-house search campaign into houses, arresting 12 and leading them into an unknown place.

Local sources told Wafa that Israeli soldiers randomly opened fire on houses, critically wounding 20 and causing heavy damages to these houses. In Hebron, Israeli soldiers, tanks and armoured personnel carriers thrust into Wadi Haraba area and broke into some houses.

Wafa said that Israeli soldiers besieged several houses and forced inhabitants to leave, turning their houses into military posts.

In the Gaza Strip, Israeli troops destroyed Wednesday one Palestinian house in the city of Rafah, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said. Witnesses told WAFA that Israeli tanks and bulldozers rolled into al-Salam neighbourhood and knocked down one house owned by Mahmoud Matria.

They added that the bulldozers damaged several other houses in the area.

Security sources reported that at least 12 Israeli tanks and armoured vehicles, backed by Apache helicopters, thrust into al-Salam and al-Barazil neighbourhoods and demolished one house.

In the meantime, Israeli troops opened fire at houses in al-Namsawi neighbourhood of Khanyounis City, south of Gaza, witnesses said. They said that Israeli soldiers, stationed at "Neveh Dekalim" settlement, opened fire at houses. (albawaba.com)
