Lorestan Province Local Law Enforcement Forces (LEF) personnel have recently seized 199 ancient coins dating back to the early years of Islam in the city of Poldokhtar in this southwestern province of Iran, Iran's official news agency (IRNA) reported.
In addition to the coins, which are in various sizes and bear the name of Prophet Mohammad (S), there were precious piece of antique stone and eight signet rings, said the agency.
Quoting Reza Mandaloo, a LEF official as saying that the confiscated items have been handed over to the provincial branch of the Cultural Heritage Organization for further assessment -- Albawaba.com
