The fate of 378 Kuwaiti and other POWs is still unknown, more than 14 years after the Saddam invasion and occupation of Kuwait.

The remains of only 227 POWs have been found so far.

According to KUNA, these people were hijacked from Kuwait's streets and homes by the Iraqi forces, after they invaded the country. All calls and appeals by Kuwait and other countries, as well as worldwide organizations, have so far failed to establish their whereabouts.
