"L'enfant endormi" (the Deadened Child / the child, who was put to sleep) of Yasmina Kassari has won recently the 'best feature film' award, in the 'Sights of Africa' Festival, held in Montreal. The film, which was presented in the framework of the 21 edition of "Days of African and Creole Cinema" of Montreal, was chosen out of more than one hundred films, coming from 24 countries, that were presented during the ten-day festival.
The film deals with the topic of exile from the point of view of the women, who are left behind to wait for their exiled husbands
Le Matin reports that two other full-length Moroccan productions that were presented in the festival were "The Darkroom" of Hassan Benjelloun, and "Tenja" of Hassan Lagzouli.
