On Sunday November 6, the Super GT series reached its final round in Suzuka Circuit; in the midst of heavy rain, the #1 Xanavi NISMO Z driven by Satoshi Motoyama and Richard Lyons started from 9th on the grid and finished in 2nd place, gaining a podium finish.  With this 2nd place win, NISMO clinches the Team Series Champion for the third year running.

The race had been originally scheduled for 52 laps, however it was shortened to 39 laps due to heavy rainfall, and the NISMO drivers took advantage of the safety car start by switching drivers early on, which dropped them to the end of the pack. As the race progressed, other drivers had to pull and switch helping the NISMO drivers gain 4th and 6th positions by lap 24. By lap 36, the #1 Z was in 2nd place and would not give it up.

The 4 Z teams all finished in the Top 10, garnering 2nd, 4th, 8th and 9th positions for the XANAVI NISMO, G’ZOX HASEMI Z, MOTUL PITWORK Z and CALSONIC IMPUL Z respectively.

The NISMO team ends the season in first place with 86 points. This is the third consecutive year that the NISMO team wins the Team Championship title. The race was attended by 35,500 spectators under pouring rain.
