Jump starting the summer for families, Liwa Hotel offers a ‘Family First’ package rate, where up to two adults and four children can stay for a total of just Dhs550.

The family package offers two spacious interconnecting rooms with complementary breakfast for two adults and up to four children under 12 years of age – all for Dhs 550 net.  As well, all children under 12 years of age will receive a 50 per cent discount on food during their stay, and children under four years of age eat for free.

The 66-room resort overlooking the Rub al Khali desert, otherwise known as ‘The Empty Quarter,’ offers a full range of recreation and sports facilities with a focus on the desert wilderness.

According to hotel manager Mel Barisic, family travel can prove a challenge in the warmer months, trying to balance the needs of the whole family.

He said: “Everyone needs a holiday, especially families! Money and logistics are often the biggest factors in organising a family break, and we’ve designed a new package that gives everyone the space needed to enjoy the hotel and time together.”

Guests have free access to four floodlit tennis courts, a volleyball court, fitness facilities with a swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room along with children’s pool and playground area during their stay.

A selection of restaurants and lounges – including an internet café – round out the food and beverage choices to make a family getaway complete.

Danat Hotels & Resorts, a division of the Abu Dhabi-based National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCT&H) will manage two new five-star resorts, the Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna and the Al Raha Beach Hotel, as well as a cluster of four-star properties in the emirate, including Liwa Hotel. The hotels are either owned and/or managed by the group, or where the group is the owner-representative.

The National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCT&H) was formed in 1996 in response to the need to develop both tourism and commerce in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), especially Abu Dhabi.

The Corporation was formed as a semi-government organisation. NCT&H’s primary objective is to promote Abu Dhabi as an international destination, manage hotels and provide transportation and industrial catering services.
