"This is our Israel.  This is for the Jews."   

I was born in West Jerusalem (so-called the Jewish half of Jerusalem) in 1945. Under a shower of bullets that were flying over our heads, my father grabbed me and the rest of the family and fled to his native city of Nablus at the eve of the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. We remained in Rafidia-Nablus until 1952 and then moved to Ramallah where my father got a job in the post office.

Ever since my first visit in Tunisia in 2013, I had the opportunity to meet an impressive number of young people who work incessantly and tirelessly on the various axes of democratic transition. Some of them are professionals in civil society with the mission to organise activities every day and night and every single weekend to promote their specific causes.
