Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made his belief about just what should happen to club’s that fail to abide by UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules perfectly clear.
Having ran his North London side proudly as a budget and financially conscious club since his arrival in the English Premier League, Wenger has a strong belief that club’s should be financially sound and is no fan of those that buy titles per say without those being his exact words.
In his pre-Norwich press conference the Frenchman was quite clear that he wants to see those club’s that fail to play by the rules not only fined but also kicked out of major competitions such as the UEFA Champions League if they fail to abide by the rules that all other club’s have to live by:
"I'm a complete supporter of Financial Fair Play because I think that every business should live within its own resources like in any other activity.
For the punishment, I think it's sophisticated. I would like a more simple one that makes more sense.
You would think you accept the rules and you're in the competition, or you don't accept the rules and you're not in the competition. Then everybody would understand it."
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain as both set to have to pay massive fines this summer for their failure to comply with FIFA’s rules, but should they also receive the boot from the top level competitions that they have qualified for with their over-expenditures?
