Israel's military spokesman on Sunday said troops had opened fire at a large crowd of Lebanese protesters who approached the border with Israel. Lebanese sources conveyed at least four Protesters were killed and 15 were wounded.
The demonstrators were coming from Palestinian refugee camps. They were demanding the right to return to their homeland.
The clashes broke as thousands arrived in the Lebanon border to commemorate the Nakba Day. Scores of youths were throwing stones at Israeli soldiers behind the wire border.
Earlier, it was reported that the Lebanese army and security forces deployed along the roads leading towards the border.
