A video is circulating the social media of U.S. President Donald Trump while laying out a White House feast of 300 burgers and showing off what he called “A great American food”.
The dinner was served for a football team visiting the White House. Trump invited the team for a celebratory dinner on Monday after winning a national championship.
In a White House statement, Trump "wanted to host a fun event" for the team despite the federal government shutdown now in its fourth week.
However, serving burgers is not a White House norm but the result of the federal shutdown which meant many of the White House cooks where on leave because they didn't get their paychecks.
The media was present at the dinner, and a video shows the President standing behind a table where around 300 burgers being served and it went viral among social media users who had mixed opinions about it.
