Independent Lebanese media outlet Naharnet has been called Zionist propaganda by a Wikipedia troll.
The Wikipedia page for the popular news website has been edited to say that it “always focuses on spreading mindless lies, propaganda and sectarian hatred in Lebanon and the Middle East, in English and Arabic.”
The person who edited the Wikipedia article for the site also accused Naharnet of being a platform “to incite sectarian hatred, civil war and all sorts of evil in Lebanon.”
Naharnet was launched in 2000 to provide content in both English and Arabic. The “About” page of the website says:
“The team of journalists behind Naharnet’s newsdesk is balanced to represent the social fabric of the Lebanese society and to provide objective and unbiased reporting.”
Keeping track of Wikipedia edits is one of the most challenging tasks facing the online encyclopedia's moderators.
