Shimon Peres, a six decade veteran of Israeli politics, died Wednesday at 93 due to a stroke. To some he will be remembered as a hero and staunch proponent of peace. To others, he will be remembered as a politician with blood on his hands. While he has achieved a lot in his life, he is not a figure without controversy. He is loved and mourned by many; however, not all on Twitter are sharing the same love.
There was plenty of hate for Peres on the social media site.
#وفاه_شيمون_بيريز وين موسادك ؟ وين اسلحتك ؟ وين صواريخك ؟ وين قنابلك ؟ اللهم ضاعف له العذاب واجعله خالداً مخلداً في جهنم .

Where is your Mossad? Where are your weapons? Where are your Missiles? Where are your bombs? God double his torture and make him live forever in hell.

Others, including many US politicians like Paul Ryan, John McCain, mourned the Israeli leader on Twitter.
Deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. #ShimonPeres, 9th President of the State of Israel. He was a true giant of peace, and an inspiration.

Peres has served in almost every political office in Israel including prime minister, president, and more. His death marks the loss of one of the country’s fathers.
The statesman is famous for his efforts to create peace with Palestinians, earning himself the Nobel Peace Prize. He is also widely criticized for his involvement in Israel’s nuclear program, the Qana Massacre in 1996, and more.
