The long-awaited final match of Russia’s World Cup 2018 came with many dramatic scenes that will keep millions of football fans around the world talking about it for days.
From the unexpected loss for Croatia following their impressive performance from day one, to Pussy Riot breaking onto the pitch in protest, all moments were captured and shared by millions on social media.
One of the moments is for world leaders, with several images for Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and French President Emmanuel Macron cheering for their national teams, as well as moments of celebration or surprise during the match.
Another moment that had the biggest share of funny comments, was during the final ceremony when world leaders were greeting the French and Croatian players and it started to rain heavily.
The discussion was not about the rain itself which was percieved as a good omen by some people, but for the moment in which Russia’s Putin, the host, appeared the only one who is offered an umbrella while other leaders and guests, got drenched in rain.
