A project to revamp old Manama suq (market) will start in February next year, Bahrain's Municipal Affairs and Agriculture Minister and chairman of the Suq Development Committee Ali Saleh Al Saleh declared Saturday.
According to GDN, the first stage includes reconstruction of the government building, police station, post office, beautification of building fronts between Bab Al Bahrain Road and Al Tijar Road and improving facilities for shoppers.
The project is expected to be completed by March 2007. Mr Al Saleh said that the committee will be meeting in September.
