Ishida Europe, which has been dealing with the design, manufacture and installation of complete weighing and packing line solutions, has recently opened new purpose-designed premises in Dubai.

In order to provide effective sales and service support throughout the region, Ishida first established a dedicated Middle East office in Dubai in 1997. The office supports six field engineers throughout the region. It also offers an in-house projects department for the design and installation of bespoke packing systems.

The company’s growth since then has now led to its moving to the new facility, close to Dubai airport. Additional amenities include a demonstration area, where customers can see the latest equipment operating and also run trials of their products.

Ishida Middle East has a stockholding of generic Ishida equipment, enabling faster delivery to customers requiring a standard machine. Similarly the company has increased its spare parts facility, meaning most parts can now be supplied directly from Dubai.

Other services include Service Contracts and a machinery refurbishment program. “The Middle East and Africa are very important to the future growth of Ishida,” commented Craig Russell, Ishida’s General Manager for the Middle East & Africa. “This new facility has been tailored to meet the needs of our ever-expanding customer base and ensure we can continue to offer a fast and reliable service.”

In the Middle East, Ishida has an installed base well in excess of 1,000 multihead weighers and several hundred snack food bagmakers. Latest equipment to be launched by the company includes the R Series multihead weighers, and the IX-GA X-ray system which can detect foreign bodies down to 0.3mm in size and also spot missing items or damaged products.
