ALBAWABA - Will Ferrell dominated internet discourse after the widespread acclaim for the teaser of his upcoming Netflix documentary, Will & Harper.

As they go on a cross-country drive, the documentary focuses on the connection between Will and Harper Steele, his closest friend. While working together on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s, Harper and Will crossed paths, and Harper came out as transgender in 2022.

In January, the film had its world debut at the Sundance Film Festival. Will said to Variety that until Harper came out to him via email, he had "zero knowledge" of the transgender culture.

"I hadn't had anyone personally in my life, but I had met trans people," he added. "In light of the fact that I was completely unprepared for this, I believe it is thrilling that we are releasing this film into the world."

Harper agreed, stating that the documentary "tells the story of a cis friend of a trans person who has to transition himself." He went on to say, "It's a chance [for] all of us in the cis community to be able to ask questions and also just listen and be there as a friend to discuss this journey."

The trailer is uplifting and really touching if you haven't seen it yet. Last week, it was well-received, with many people complimenting Will on his transparency and eagerness to understand Harper's perspective.

One X user commented on the trailer, saying, "I love this because he's showing it's OK to admit ignorance if it comes with being willing to learn." "Impressed that my bingo card did not include Will Ferrell: Unexpected Trans Advocate, but then again, isn't it wonderful to be pleasantly surprised sometimes?"
