Taylor Swift tops Saudi Arabia newspapers amid 'Tortured Poets Department' release

ALBAWABA - Amid the release of her newest album 'Tortured Poets Department' and breaking streaming records across countless platforms, Taylor Swift is the talk of local social media users after making it on the front cover of a Saudi newspaper. 

According to CNN, Taylor Swift's album became the "most-streamed" on its first day across platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Additionally, it garnered more than a whopping 300 million streams in a single day breaking records worldwide.

The headline in question described the 'Tortured Poets Department' as "Swift's saddest album of her life" despite having quite the roster of well-known sad songs under her discography including Enchanted, All Too Well, Last Kiss, Back to December, and more. 

The newspaper that put the incredibly popular star on its front cover is local Saudi Arabain Okaz which resides in the city of Jeddah.

Users took to the post by Celebs Arabic on X (formerly known as Twitter) and voiced their excitement about their favorite pop star making it to the top of the newspaper: 

"My sweetheart is in control." 

"She deserves it." 

On the other hand, others weren't so positive about the matter and said: 

"Who cares" 

"Who even reads newspapers anymore, it's 2024 people".  

"Nobody cares, Taylor Swift is always sad, what's new?!"
