ALBAWABA - Sydney Sweeney shines at TIFF with Oscar buzz for Christy.

Sydney Sweeney went to the Toronto International Film Festival to discuss her new movie "Christy," rather than her American Eagle ad campaign. After the movie got such great reviews, she's getting what she wants.

The 27-year-old actor, who was nominated for an Emmy, got Oscar buzz right away for her role in David Michôd's biopic of boxer Christy Salters Martin. For the role, Sweeney portrays Christy Salters Martin, the first woman in boxing history, who came from West Virginia as the "Coal Miner's Daughter" and rose to the top of the sport during its early days.

After getting a wonderful response from the TIFF crowd on Friday, Sweeney stood next to Martin on the stage of the Princess of Wales Theatre and said it was the best experience of her life.

For Sweeney personally, it was a realization of her dreams.

Martin won many belts and was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, but her story is one of struggle. She was taught to hide the fact that she was gay, so she married her teacher, Jim Martin. After abusing her mentally and physically for years, he tried to kill her in 2010 by stabbing and shooting her many times. Jim Martin was given a 25-year prison term. He passed away in November.

People quickly said that Sweeney's performance with Ben Foster, who plays Jim Martin, was her best yet. For a long time, TIFF has been a starting point for Oscar campaigns. The huge response to "Christy," particularly regarding Sweeney, seemed likely to place her in discussions about the awards.

Regardless of the circumstances, "Christy" showcases Sweeney's best big-screen performance to date, highlighting the rapid evolution of her work. This is her roughest and least showy performance to date, as she wears short, dark hair and a bigger body throughout the whole thing.

Martin praised Sweeney and said that her loud and cocky boxing image didn't show how shy she really was or how much she wanted to help others. Since she almost died, Martin has worked to help victims of domestic abuse.

"I have those two parts of myself." "And I think that's why Sydney Sweeney is doing such a great job," Martin said. "She changed into an entirely different person that none of you saw coming." She wasn't Sydney, who was pretty and hot. She was the rough and tough Christy.

When asked about her latest American Eagle ad campaign, Sweeney used the catchphrase "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans," which is a play on the phrase "great genes." Some people said the ad praised whites too much. The store has said that the marketing "has always been about the jeans."

When Vanity Fair asked Sweeney about her plans for TIFF, she said she was going to support her movie. She said, "I'm not there to talk about jeans." "I'll be there to talk about Christy because that's what the movie is about."

Black Bear, one of the producers of "Christy," will put it in theaters on November 7. This is the first time the company has distributed a movie. Together with Martin, Sweeney is a producer on the show "Christy."

Sweeney said she worked out three times a day for two to three months to get ready for the fighting scenes. She had a food coach, a boxing coach, and weight coaches. "And a lot of Chick-fil-A," she added. "A lot of protein shakes and milkshakes."

Sweeney said, "But it was wonderful being able to fully embody such a strong woman." "I felt stronger still."
