In addition, he discussed the potential of keeping up his collaboration with Taim Hassan until Ramadan 2027 and offered his opinions on Fares Al-Helou's comeback to Syrian drama.
Samer Al Barkawi responded that it always starts with enthusiasm and research before any accomplishment when asked how he keeps the element of surprise in his projects with Taim Hassan year after year.
He remarked, "Before any achievement, the research process begins, and it's somewhat based on enthusiasm. Thank God, the passion persists and is always willing to look for something new. Furthermore, "different" refers to both what I want to present and what I think I should try, not just what I'm presenting.
"This year, frankly, I'm going to be a little bolder with worlds that may seem hypothetical but with the condition that they have implications or reflections on what we are currently experiencing," he continued, adding that he constantly aims to explore new worlds that may seem different or even unfamiliar but ultimately reflect the reality people live in today.
"It's like when you reach out and touch the space of these Syrians, weary and burdened by this war, and you bathe it in its essence, and Jaber emerges from it," said Samer Al Barkawi, who also attempted to explain Jaber's character in his own way, stressing that the character originates from the complicated reality Syrians are living through.
The Return of Fares Al-Helou to Syrian Drama: A Conscious Decision
"Despite his absence, Fares never left my memory, at least as one of the actors who left a significant mark on me, both as a viewer and as a director," Samer Al Barkawi said when discussing his decision to cast Fares Al-Helou, admitting that the concept had been on his mind for a long time. I've always wanted to work with him, and now the situation has made it possible, as his return to the industry coincides with a renewed interest in his work and the demand for his unique talent. First of all, he was a perfect fit for the part.
Will Taim Hassan and Samer Al Barkawi continue to work together until Ramadan 2027?
Samer Al Barkawi acknowledged that they are thinking about working with Taim Hassan again during the 2027 Ramadan season, adding, "God willing."
He continued, "God willing, we are currently working on the details and the project's format."
