ALBAWABA - Sadiq Sabbah addresses Maram Ali rumors surrounding Mawlana series starring Nour Ali.
Producer Sadek Sabbah broke his silence to address speculation surrounding Maram Ali's alleged rejection of the role of "Shahla" in the series "Mawlana," starring Nour Ali. He also discussed Tim Hassan's memorable lines that went viral on social media during Ramadan 2025, particularly his pronunciation of the letter "jeem."
The controversy began after Maram Ali's appearance on the program "Al-Sullam wal-Thu'ban" (The Ladder and the Snake), where she discussed the possibility of turning down some acting offers. She indicated that this might be due to issues with the production company, stating, "No one refuses to work with Tim Hassan. Sometimes you don't agree with the company; there are many reasons, but of course, no one refuses."

Following her remarks, speculation arose regarding the role offered to Maram Ali to work with Tim Hassan, with some believing it was "Shahla" in the series "Mawlana," starring Nour Ali.
Sadek Sabbah denied this, emphasizing that the role was originally intended for Nour Ali and was never offered to Maram. He said, "This is the first time I've heard of this. Maram Ali worked with us in a minor role several years ago with Ahmed El Sakka. From the very first two episodes, we consistently referred to her as 'Nour,' without ever mentioning Maram, showing our respect for her. It's her company, after all, but we never brought her up."
When asked if her name had been considered for the role during the series' preparations, Sadek Sabbah responded categorically, "Absolutely not."
Regarding the controversy surrounding some of Taim Hassan's lines in the series "Mawlana," which went viral on social media, Sadek Sabbah considered it part of the show's success, saying, "Taim Hassan creates trends with his body language, and that's part of the strategy for success. In my opinion, drama, besides being meaningful, must also contain elements of suspense and entertainment."
Regarding some of the criticism leveled at these trends, he responded, "If someone can't do the same and become a trend, then they shouldn't criticize him. Whoever can do the same, let them prove their abilities."
Sadek Sabbah also addressed the controversy surrounding Jaber's stammering, saying, "Of course, they'll probably remove the letter 'j' from the dictionary soon enough," emphasizing that it's proof of the widespread popularity of Taim Hassan's projects.
Sadek Sabbah praised director Samer Barqawi and his vision for the series, as well as the cast and crew who contributed to its success, saying, "Thank God, the results are outstanding." I believe Mawlana is among the top, at least in the top three globally. A salute to the hardworking and compassionate Samer Barqawi, because he truly creates works brimming with effort, dedication, emotion, and vision."
He continued, "And of course, our beloved Abu Ward, the king of the orchestra, we can only tip our hats to him." A beautiful yet tiring journey, full of exhaustion and challenges… This collaboration is a badge of honor for Al-Sabah Company.”
It is worth noting that the series “Mawlana” achieved great success during the 2026 Ramadan season. Its plot revolves around Jaber Gadallah, who is fleeing his past, and fate leads him to meet Salim Al-Adel, a man of noble lineage, who offers him a job at his estate in Al-Adliya. However, during their journey, a car accident occurs, and only Jaber survives. He decides to abandon his old identity and assume Salim's identity in the hope of escaping the estate, which is located on the border.
The situation changes as soon as Salim Al-Adel arrives at Al-Adliya, especially with his encounter with Shahla, Salim's sister, who returns at the same time due to her need for money after her father's bankruptcy and death. The two agree to continue with this plan in order to obtain the funds.
