Queen Rania of Jordan turns 53 years old

ALBAWABA - Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan celebrated her 53rd birthday on Thursday. 

The wife of King Abdullah II, Queen Rania was born in Kuwait to Palestinian parents, She is a business graduate from the American University in Cairo, and she tied the knot with King Abdullah II in 1993.

This year was an eventful year for the Queen Consort of Jordan, as she celebrated major events for her children including the weddings of her son, Crown Prince Hussein to Princess Rajwa Al Hussein in June and the wedding of her daughter, Princess Iman to businessman, Jameel Thermiotis in March.

Queen Rania also celebrated her youngest kids' graduations, Princess Salma's university graduation from the University of Southern California, and son Prince Hashem's High School graduation from the prestigious school King’s Academy in Jordan.

The mother of four is extremely successful, she is a global advocate for a number of causes, and she is recognized for her work on behalf of youth and education, including her position as an Honorary Global Chair for the United Nations Education Initiative as well as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

It is worth mentioning that the 53-year-old grew up speaking Arabic, Farsi, and English, and has also studied French, Spanish, and Italian. 

For her birthday, Queen Rania took a trip to Irbid, a city in Jordan to celebrate with the women of Jordan. She documented the celebration on her official Instagram page and wrote: "Lovely to spend the afternoon with you! Thanks to Um Mohammad and all the women I met today at Firyal Kofahi’s Kitchen in the village of Hawar - what an incredible example of women lifting each other up!"

She went on to post another video of her visit captioning: "Enjoyed every minute of my visit to Irbid today."
