ALBAWABA - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are welcoming friends affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles into their homes.
The residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is in Montecito, California, approximately 90 miles north of Los Angeles. According to Zillow, the mansion, which they purchased for $14.65 million in 2020, is currently worth an incredible $29 million. In addition to wellness enclaves and an all-inclusive fitness center, the property has nine bedrooms and sixteen bathrooms.
The Hollywood Hills, Eaton, and Palisades wildfires have forced more than 100,000 people to leave Los Angeles. The Palisades and Eaton Fires have burned at least 10,600 acres in northern Los Angeles County. A combination of dry weather and strong winds started the fires, which are having a significant impact well outside the danger zones. The fires have claimed the lives of ten people and destroyed 10,000 buildings. With only 6% of the fire contained, the Palisades Fire is the most devastating in Los Angeles history.
According to a number of websites, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed their friends who have fled Los Angeles. The Sussexes announced their intention to support fire victims through the Archewell Foundation, their charity, in a statement on Thursday, January 9.

On their website, they declared that "wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods in the last few days and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more—affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life."
They also included a list of organizations that people may donate to, including chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen, which has been a longtime partner of Archewell, Cal Fire, and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. “If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas,” they said.
Additionally, the ex-working Royals enumerated ways in which everyone can assist those in need. “Please provide a safe haven in your home if a friend, loved one, or pet needs to evacuate,” they added. Make sure to inquire if any elderly or disabled neighbors require assistance with evacuation.
Additionally, they promoted giving to the American Red Cross. Some individuals and families have found themselves without any resources. "Please think about contributing clothes, toys, and other necessities for kids," they said.
The Sussexes also revealed a new Netflix series called With Love, Meghan, which would provide an inside look at their home life, only days before the fire. The Duchess of Sussex provides hosting, gardening, and cooking advice with friends and celebrities during the broadcast.
