ALBAWABA - Toei Animation just announced that the One Piece anime will be taking a long break till Apr. 2025 with its Egghead Island arc continuing on Mar. 30, 2025, according to Anime Corner.
The reason behind the hiatus is for a "recharging period" purposes and higher quality in animation production. One Piece first aired on Oct. 20, 1999, and has been going strong since in terms of views and popularity. It's considered to be one of the best Shonen manga and anime to bless fans of both mediums.
It's so popular that it received an ongoing live-action adaptation by Netflix and an upcoming remastered version by Wit Studio which is known for animating Attack on Titan.
One Piece anime to go on a long break
Fans can also expect a "ONE PIECE FAN LETTER" episode that will air next Sunday, according to an announcement trailer posted on YouTube by the 'ONE PIECE Official YouTube Channel'. The anime currently has more than 1121 episodes making it one of Japan's longest ongoing anime.
Moreover, Toei Animation is currently busy with Dragon Ball Daima this anime season which is currently sitting on a respectable 8.18/10 on My Anime List and an 8.8/10 on IMDB.
