ALBAWABA - Meghan Markle steps back on set, sparking buzz with a surprise cameo.

In the movie "Close Personal Friends," Meghan Markle is making her return to the big screen with a small cameo. The comedy is currently filming in and around Los Angeles. Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, Brie Larson, and Henry Golding are all in it.

Melissa Villaseñor, who used to be on "Saturday Night Live," is also in the comedy, along with Natasia Demetriou, Anna Konkle, Patti Harrison, Jack Shalloo, and Dustin Demri-Burns.

Rumors suggest that the story revolves around a "normal" couple who encounters a famous couple in Santa Barbara. When the two couples become friends, it's not a good time.

Isaac Aptaker wrote the script, which Jason Orley is directing based on a story they both worked on together. Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are responsible for making it. The three actors had worked together before on the Amazon MGM romantic comedy "I Want You Back."

Before she married Prince Harry in 2018, Markle was in seven seasons of "Suits" and movies like "Horrible Bosses" and "Remember Me." In August, she and Prince Harry's production company, Archewell Productions, renewed its first-look deal with Netflix. However, she hasn't been in a movie in over seven years. Markle has been an executive producer on documentaries like "Polo" and "Live to Lead." She has also had her own lifestyle show, "With Love, Meghan," which just finished its second season.

"It's a new part, right?" Markle, 36, told Page Six that she quit her job on "Suits" on the USA network in order to focus on her duties as Duchess of Sussex. "I checked this box and am proud of the work I did there. Now it's time to work together with Harry."

The couple said in 2020 that they would be taking a break from royal tasks and living in both the U.K. and Santa Barbara.
