ALBAWABA - Lebanese actor Walid Al Alayli passes away after long illness.

Walid Al Alayli, a Lebanese actor, died today in Beirut at the age of 65 after a difficult time filled with illness and loneliness. Al Alayli, whose father was a famous doctor in Beirut named Abdel Karim Al-Alaily, who was called the "doctor of the poor," started playing in 1999. He made a big impact on Lebanese and Arab drama, movies, and theater.

Nehem Badawi, the head of the Lebanese Actors Syndicate, said in a statement that Walid Al Alayli was a creative, educated, and world-famous star who passed away and would be missed. His work as an artist left a significant mark. "On behalf of the Actors Syndicate and myself, I send my deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and coworkers in the art community."

Al Alayli went back to Lebanon at the start of this century after studying business administration and spending some time in Europe, where he got married and had two sons, so he could focus on the artistic ability he had had since he was a child. The late Marwan Najjar wrote "Talibin al-Qurb" (Seeking Closeness), the series that started his career on TV. He kept writing plays while in Lebanon. Some of them were "Isar," "Ruby," "Ishq al-Nisaa" (Women's Love), "Ghariba" (Strange Woman), "Jana al-Omar" (The Harvest of the Life), "Ibnat al-Mu'allem" (The Teacher's Daughter), and "Banat Amati wa Ibnati wa Ana" (My Cousins' Daughters, My Daughter, and I). He also worked on the biography "Al-Shahrura" (The Nightingale), in which he played the late artist Sabah and worked with the singer Carole Samaha.

Walid Al Alayli also had important experiences in movies, especially in "Al-Fajr" (Dawn), "From My Window, Without a Home," and "Un homme perdu" (A Lost Man). He discussed well-known works like "Anis wa Maurice" (Anis and Maurice) and "Tariq al-Shams" (The Road of the Sun) when he was on stage.
