ALBAWABA - A leaked prison photo of Rawan Bin Hussain has stirred widespread concern.

The father of fashion and social media star Rawan Bin Hussain has spoken out in public for the first time since his daughter was jailed in Dubai Central Prison. His remarks coincide with the mounting concerns following the leak of an online photo of Rawan inside the facility, which depicted her as exhausted and pallid.

The father of Rawan said he thinks the experience might be beneficial. He told her that his daughter reads, memorizes the Quran, and prays every day. He also said that this time could help her think things through and get better. His words seemed to be an attempt to stop rumors and comfort her fans, many of whom have been posting about their worries on social media.

Leaked pictures and Reports of a Hunger Strike

Along with his comment, the news spread a picture that was said to have been taken inside the prison. Rawan looks tired in the picture, but he is still calm. Some news stories said she went on a hunger strike after her sentence was lengthened for another year because she got into a fight with a female guard. But there has been no public legal confirmation of the hunger strike.

Background of the Case

Rawan was given his first sentence in March. The Dubai Criminal Court gave her a term of six months in prison, a 20,000 AED fine, and sent her home after she finished her time in jail. A legal case about the event was also sent to a different court.

Rawan was caught in public while drunk and causing trouble for other people. This was the start of the case. Reports from the investigation say she hit and cursed police officers while she was being arrested. Subsequently, an altercation with a female prison guard allegedly prompted an increase in her most recent sentence.

Official Legal Position

Before, the Dubai Public Prosecution said that everyone is equal before the law, putting extra emphasis on:

Anyone who breaks the law will have to answer for it. In Dubai, the rule of law is the most important thing.

Rawan is still being held, and her lawyers haven't said anything about any new court motions.
