ALBAWABA - Iconic Albanian-English pop star Dua Lipa reportedly fired her manager after he signed a letter calling to ban Irish rap group Kneecap from Glastonbury Festival in July over their pro-Palestine stance.

According to The Mail on Sunday, several agents in the music industry also signed the letter, which was sent to the festival's founder, Michael Eavis, calling for Kneecap to be removed from the list of artists performing.

However, the letter in question leaked across social media, sparking backlash and condemnation from pro-Palestine activists and other individuals in the music industry.

Additionally, the letter didn't stop Kneecap from performing at Glastonbury Festival in July, where they voiced their solidarity with Palestine.

The leak prompted Dua Lipa to fire David Levy, her agent at WME, after discovering he was involved in signing the letter. Lipa has voiced her solidarity with Palestine on multiple occasions and has constantly urged for a ceasefire in Gaza. The Mail on Sunday also reported that Levy's decision "doesn’t align" with Lipa's political stance on the matter in question.

A source told the English newspaper, "She views him as being a supporter of Israel’s war in Gaza, and the terrible treatment of the Palestinians, and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis."

Since Oct. 7, 2023, the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of more than 65,000 Palestinians and has injured over 166,000. Moreover, 440 Palestinians have died from malnutrition, including 147 children, according to the Health Ministry in the Strip.
