Wherever Dounia Batma goes, controversy follows

The Moroccan singer and former Arab Idol contestant has been accused of stealing one of the singles in her recently-released first album from another singer. Her fans didn't seem to notice though, as her album has so far been a great success!

According to Sayidaty.net, Dounia's single "Ay Tahibni" is a copy of Moroccan singer Jihan's (original) song "Hub Eih."

What made the accusation seem even more valid is the fact that both tracks were composed by Badr al Dawoudi. The only difference is that Dounia's song lyrics were written by Khaled Bin Natour and Jihan's by Saudi song poet Khaled al Awad.

However, Badr quickly came to Dounia's defence by stating that she purchased the copyrights to the song from him before recording the single.

Although Badr rushed to clear Dounia's name, her fans were furious at him and demanded that he takes down Jihan's single from his YouTube channel.

It's worth noting that Badr is Jihan's business manager and Dounia is yet to comment on the subject.

Dounia's new album features 16 songs and is a production of MBC Group's "Platinum Records." Her single "Hubbak Asal" (Your Love is Sweet) will come out in a music video in the near future!
