In an outrageous incident last week, Ahlam's husband Mubarak al Hajery attacked cameraman Taher Nassif on the set of Arab Idol, where she is one of three judges.
Taher filed a complaint against the Emirati singer's hubby after he allegedly beat him up and destroyed his camera after filming the singer for an interview.
The cameraman said that he was so severely assaulted by Mubarak that his hand was broken. Police summoned Ahlam to the station, but the prominent singer's lawyers represented her instead.
An-Nahar reported that the MBC management, which produces the show, tried to dissuade the cameraman from filing a complaint and offered him money as compensation but to no avail.
Taher was utterly shocked at rumors that he had accepted $50 thousand in exchange for dropping the charges against the celebrity couple, reported Al Jaras magazine.
Taher stressed that he didn't file the lawsuit for financial gains or to take advantage of those who assaulted him, but to protect the dignity of every Lebanese journalist who has been subjected and still is being subjected to physical assaults and insults by anyone.
Perhaps this will finally teach the power couple that they aren't untouchable!
