Lebanese actress Cyrine Abdel Nour has brushed off rumors of plans to make a sequel to the popular recent hit soap “Ruby”.
The drama that beamed into Arab homes across the region, scored record ratings on Arab satellite TV and propelled the actress into the limelight. Cyrine who played the leading lady, will be taking some time off to recuperate from intenese filming for the Lebanese TV drama, Ruby, that fast-tracked her acting career no end. She freely admits to looking foward to taking a pause following the still-rolling-out Ramadan, before she launches into a new batch of projects between October and November. The flavor-of-the-season actress already has her sights set on a new Egyptian soap for broadcasting next Ramadan 2013.
During the social side of the holy month, Cyrine was the star of a gala Iftar dinner hosted by MBC in Lebanon. Cyrine managed to hog the spotlight at the well-attended event that brought together acting luminaries from aroud the Arab world who had been part of MBC's repertoire of dramas this season. While the trending actress did not strictly speaking take part in any of the exlucsive Ramadan soap lineup, Cyrine is still basking in the critical acclaim for “Ruby”.
A hungry media all swooped in to hold interviews with Cyrine at the Ramadan feast. The subject of attention was generous with her time, while other actresses present were less welcoming of press overtures, refusing point blank to hold interviews.
