He's gentle on the ears and easy on the eyes, which makes it hard to believe that an international star like Sami Yusuf has never performed in a place like Dubai. But the good news is, the British-Iranian singer-songwriter is headed this way in December.

The 36-year-old artist will make his Dubai Debut at the Opera House on December 16.

If you're a serious Sami Yusuf fan, you can buy tickets to meet him a day before the concert and watch the superstar rehearse for a whole precious 90 minutes.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on October 27.

Since this is Sami's first time on a Dubai stage, he's prepared a very special song named "Glorification," which was inspired by the poetry of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

It's only fitting that Sami plays in this cultured city. In an interview, the singer said that in many ways, Dubai represents the philosophy of his music. “[T]hat of bringing together people in celebration of our shared values, free from discrimination and prejudice.”

“Sami Yusuf’s music transcends nations, his beautiful songs and his inclusion of traditional instruments captivate listeners and create a truly unique sound which we cannot wait to hear live in Dubai Opera’s phenomenal acoustic,” said the Opera’s chief executive Jasper Hope.

*Tickets, going on sale Thursday, will start from Dh350 on dubaiopera.com.
