ALBAWABA - As the long-awaited Stranger Things Season 5 hits Netflix, pro-Palestine activists took to social media to urge fans to boycott the beloved sci-fi series after actors such as Brett Gelman and Noah Schnapp voiced their pro-Israel stance.

Both Gelman and Schnapp, who are actors cast in Stranger Things, have used their social media platforms in the past to promote pro-Israel views, prompting a flood of reactions from pro-Palestine activists urging Netflix users to boycott the show.

Pro-Palestine activist Guy Christensen (Also known as YourFavoriteGuy) took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Reminder to Boycott Stranger Things. Their actors like Noah Schnapp and Bret Gelman use their platforms to launder Israel’s genocide."

This comes after Noah Schnapp shared an Instagram story in 2023 showcasing stickers that had "Zionism is Sexy" and "Hamas is ISIS" printed on them.

Additionally, Gelman showcased his pro-Israel stance on multiple occasions. The actor shared an Insatgram post on October 8, 2024, calling for the release of the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas. He wrote, " I don't know what to say other than: Bring Them Home Now and AM Yisrael Chai."

According to Pop Base, Gelman also took to Schnapp's side in 2024 after the backlash and said, "I saw nothing wrong. He held up a sticker saying 'Zionism is sexy.' Zionism is the believe that Israel should exist, and that’s sexy to me too."

While the actors made these comments in the past, they recently resurfaced after the release of Stranger Things Season 5, prompting calls to boycott Netflix and the show.

A social media user wrote on X, "I’d boycott it but I stopped watching that garbage years ago."

Another added, "I am disappointed to hear that about Brett Gelman! He’s a funny dude… but then, so is Sacha Baron Cohen."

According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israel's two-year war on Gaza has left over 70,000 Palestinians killed and more than 170,900 injured, including women and children.
