Ayman Reda and Bassem Yakhour are returning for the tenth season of their popular TV drama series “Buq’at Daw” (Spotlight).
The duo will begin filming scenes of the satirical show in the very near future in Damascus.
The producing company “Sama Fann” has decided to begin preparations for the tenth sequel after a series of delays and they’ve already nominated director Amer Fahd to work on the show.
According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, insider sources have revealed that all the sketches for the series, which is based on short segments each telling a different story, have been decided on, and that the leading stars have already been chosen.
It was noted that the scripts for this sequel took up to two years to complete and that politics will be heavily featured in the different segments and how they reflect on social life.
The ninth sequel, which aired in Ramadan 2012, received second place as the “Best Arab Comedy” series.
The drama is famous for its direct depiction of people's lives and touches on sensitive issues within society in a daring and satirical manner.
