ALBAWABA - Syrian singer Assala Nasri is facing threats after releasing her latest song to support Palestine amid the bloody war in Gaza.

Assala released a song titled "The Natives" in support of people's right to stay in Palestine as the land was originally theirs before Israeli occupation.

Two days after the song was released, Assala got many warnings on social media to delete and remove the song claiming it contained inappropriate content, even though it only showed dancing scenes and and some expressions.

Asala collaborated in "The Natives" song with an Egyptian acapella band led by Maestro Dr. Mazen Daraz, while the song’s melodies were by Hussein Nazik, the musical arrangement was by Ahmed Diaa, and the strings and orchestra were arranged and performed by Fahd.

Moreover, the song is a mixture of Levantine-Palestinian folklore and Palestinian chant and seeks to revive the Palestinian heritage.

It also emphasizes the Palestinian people's adherence to their land and their rejection of any other plans, and that despite any circumstances they will remain the owners of the land.

The song title has been translated into Hebrew to deliver a message to the Israeli settlers.
