ALBAWABA - Despite taking to his official X account (Formerly known as Twitter) and apologizing for making racist comments towards Palestinians and how they are inferior to the West, streaming platform Twitch carried on with its terms of service and banned Asmongold for two weeks.
The nearly two-minute clip which had Asmongold banned featured him saying, "They have genocide built into Sharia law right now, so no I'm not going to cry a fu**ing river when people who have genocide baked into their laws, are being genocided."
"These people are not your allies, they are not the same as us," referring to the Palestinians.
Asmongold banned on Twitch amid racist comments about Palestinians
Despite being banned on his secondary Twitch account, Asmongold's main one remains untouched by the streaming platform. Although his main account isn't banned, he prefers streaming on the second one.
The news about Asmon's ban went viral on Musk's X, with its pro-Palestine users taking to several comments sections and voicing their opinions about the matter at hand. Here's what they had to say:
"It will give him time to clean his room," with a screenshot of Asmon's room which is notoriously known to be so dirty that it has roaches roaming in it.
"Twitch finally banning the right people?"
"Good. It’s not an opinion, you’re allowed to have an opinion, but commenting on a whole culture being less superior is objectively wrong, especially to say out loud".
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of at least 42,000 Palestinians without counting the lives lost under the rubble from the airstrikes and the injuring of more than 97,886.
Asmongold issues a 20-minute apology video
Amid his comments about Palestine and taking to the matter on X (formerly known as Twitter), Asmongold took to his official YouTube channel and issued a 20-minute apology video addressing what he said about the Palestinians.
In his apology, he walked his audience through how wrong he was to stereotype a whole group of people as "Religious extremists". Asmon also added how he appreciates all the criticisms he faced from social media users including hateful comments telling him to "Kill himself" and how genuinely sorry he was about making such comments about the Palestinians.
He added that he was born into a Catholic family but always fought against religion since he's technically an atheist and is not a big fan of religious groups.
Moreover, he also added that he will clean part of his notoriously dirty home and will not be asking a professional cleaner to do it.
Asmongold also admitted that what he said was Disgusting and insensitive, and painted too wide of a brush about what he meant.
He also announced stepping down from leadership roles in Starforge PC and OTK on a mutual basis to "Change his life and broaden his perspective".
Later in the video, he also showed interest in traveling to the Middle East and Turkey including places like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to learn more about their culture and lifestyle.
