ALBAWABA - Twitch streamer and partner Asmongold is under fire across social media including X (formerly known as Twitter) for saying that Palestinians have an inferior culture compared to people living in the West triggering a swarm of comments judging the streamer over his insensitive remarks about the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.
During the nearly two-minute clip, he added, "They have genocide built into Sharia law right now, so no I'm not going to cry a fu**ing river when people who have genocide baked into their laws, are being genocided."
"These people are not your allies, they are not the same as us."
Moreover, he went on to claim that if Palestinians had the same access to weaponry and budget as Israel, they would be doing the same to the people residing in occupied Palestine.
Asmongold is under fire over saying Palestinians are inferior
The clip in question triggered a swarm of comments from pro-Palestine and human rights activists who judged Asmongold as they demanded Twitch to ban him for his remarks about the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza. Here's what they had to say:
"Did this guy just call an entire ethnic group inferior to his? Is that not ban-worthy???"
"Oh, he’s on the side of burning people alive got it …"
"Maybe all that trash in his room shows what kind of person this guy is".
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of at least 42,000 Palestinians without counting the lives lost under the rubble from the airstrikes and the injuring of more than 97,886.
Hamas announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel making it the biggest offensive by the group in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip, captured military bases, and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel while others were seen paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Asmongold apologizes for his comment
Amid going on fellow streamer Hasan Abi's stream where they talked for hours about the matter in question. Asmongold took to his official X account and apologized for his comments on the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
He wrote, "Looking back on it, I was way too much of an asshole about the Palestine thing. My bad. Of course, no one deserves to have their life destroyed even if they do things or have views I find regressive. You guys deserve more than me saying stupid shit like that, I'll do better".
