Vivacious vocalists Angham and Asala Nasri are battling it out for the song title ‘Baladi’ (My Country). The two patriotic singers have much to passionately sing about their homelands right now.
After recording a new song dedicated to her Motherland after the downfall of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood from power and ousting of President Mohammad Morsi, Angham was surprised when two days later Syrian singer Asala Nasri completed a duet with the same title alongside Egyptian singer Hussam Habeeb.
It’s not the first time two artists have created a song with the same name, but what’s totally crazy is that the same poet, Amira Tu’aymah, wrote both of the tracks, according to Sayidaty.net! What gives?
Failed attempts were made to contact Amir and clarify the dilemma, but it is not yet known why he didn’t notice that he gave the same title to both songs.
