The most Instagrammed destination for 2019 is London, it has been revealed.
The UK capital has pushed Paris into second place and New York into third.
Berlin, meanwhile, is the most ‘selfied’ location in the world, far outranking London, which previously held the title.
The rankings have been produced by Hoppa, which has compared and contrasted the results with an identical study it produced a few years ago and illustrated the findings with three infographics.
One reveals the top 50 Instagram destinations, ranked according to how many times they’ve been hash-tagged.
Another contains top 10s for Instagram categories by location – which cities are top for selfies, scenery pictures, sexually suggestive images, food snaps and pictures of couples.
The third infographic takes the top 10 most Instagrammed places and reveals the most popular types of pictures associated with them – selfies, scenery, couples, food, shopping, groups, wildlife, alcohol, sexual or marketing.
The categories infographics were drawn up by 1,000 random pictures for the top 50 most Instagrammed places being divided into the various categories and tallied.

Hoppa said that Santiago in Chile took the No1 position for scenic posts, while Rio de Janeiro took the mantle of the most sexually suggestive posts.
Interestingly, it said, Dubai took the top spot for the most popular location for photos of couples on Instagram, beating Paris, which previously held the No1 position.
It added: ‘One of the top categories on Instagram, however, has to be food photos, and while Phuket previously held the top position in this category, Tokyo is now the foodie favourite of the world.
‘Interestingly, the top 10 are still dominated by Asian cuisine.’
