ALBAWABA - Omar Al-Zahimat, a Jordanian, rode his motorcycle all the way to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, Islam's religious pilgrimage. Despite no support from fellow cyclists in Jordan, Al-Zahimat's passion for motorcycles and travel allowed him to successfully plan and complete this journey of his.

Working at a Jordanian government department and being a father of five children, Al-Zahimat bought his motorcycle in 2018 to explore Jordan. Later, he decided to take it a step further and put his riding skills to the test by traveling to the Holy Land to perform Umrah rituals.

Al-Zahimat planned a detailed route from his home in Tafila Governorate, through Durrah crossing, before reaching the Saudi regions of Duba and Muwailih. He then reached the "miqat ", the location of Ihram, after which he finally headed towards the Holy Kaaba to perform Umrah. With the necessary precautions, including attention to weather conditions, eating and drinking, and choosing the appropriate day to travel, his journey took a day and a half.

Despite wearing Ihram clothing and enduring hot weather conditions and strong winds, the journey was relatively easy for Al-Zahimat. He traveled a distance of 1500 kilometers each way and had to stop at ten fuel stations to fill up the motorcycle with a total of 152 liters over the entire distance traveled.

Al-Zahimat documented his journey on video, which he included on his YouTube page. He encourages others to prepare for such an experience by planning all the details and urges all young people to attempt it.
