The 13th edition of the National Egyptian Theater Festival will launch on 20 December 2020 until 4 January 2021.
This edition was titled “The Fathers Edition” on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the start of the Egyptian theater, showing gratitude to the Egyptian theater pioneers.
The festival announced honoring iconic Actor Mahmoud Yassin who passed away earlier this year.

The Artistic House of Theater, affiliated to the Cultural Production Sector, will present five plays during the festival, each of them will be presented twice for free.
The head of the Artistic House, Ismail Mukhtar, said that the performances were selected by a specialist committee of critics. The participating performances are: “The Optimist” by National Theater Troupe, “Tales’ Shadow” by the El Ghad Theater, “Harem Al Nar” by the Al Tali’a Theater, and “Afrah Al Qobba” and “The Miser” by the Youth Theater Troupe.

With 'The Fathers Edition' Egyptian Theater Will Celebrate its 150th Anniversary Mukhtar hailed all the participants in this festival edition who would present their works despite the unusual circumstances the world is going through due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Youth theaters from Egyptian universities will also present five plays during the festival.
