Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation in Dubai will host an online art exhibition July 26 featuring the Emirati Al Jidar Group (Wall Group) titled “Creativity: The Unsetting Sun”.

The online platform will display paintings by Ahmed Helouz, Ihsan Al-Khatib, Mahmoud Al-Ramahi, Mohamed Fahmy, Mohamed Youssef, Najat Makki, Farid Fadel, Salem Al-Junaibi, Rehab Sa`id and the late Abdul Karim Al-Sayyid, whose works aim to counter anxiety and fear with joy and hope.

The artists will be present on the Zoom application to speak about the exhibition and their experience.

This exhibition coincides with the launch of an online Emirati platform displaying plastic art, which plans to host virtual art exhibitions in the future to adapt to new technology.

“The platform will showcase the artworks of renowned veteran artists as well as the work of young artistic talents; hence presenting a mixture of wisdom, grandeur, boldness and innovation,” Al Owais Cultural Foundation said in a statement.

The foundation has expanded its virtual cultural activities to support art in all fields. “This initiative stresses that art triumphs even in the time of pandemics, and culture has the ability to grow and flourish even via digital platforms, which are all created for the good of mankind,” according to the statement.

In its new exhibition, Al Jidar Group highlights that art can overcome all barriers to reach the public, sending a message of hope and ambition to the audience.

Al Jidar Group is one of the most well-known artistic groups in the UAE. It organised its first exhibition in 1994 at the Cultural Complex in Abu Dhabi featuring Emirati and Arab artists residing in the country.

Al Jidar Group has for years organised exhibitions inside and outside the UAE, reflecting the country’s continuous artistic growth and development.
