A veterinarian and his assistant were mauled to death by three lions in a gruesome accident at a wildlife refuge center in Jordan, according to RT.
Both men succumbed to their horrific injuries on their way to the hospital.
The circumstances behind the incident have not been revealed by authorities, but it is assumed that the three wild cats pounced on the men as they stood near the cage.
An unnamed security official told AFP that all three lions were killed in the aftermath of the attack.
Jordanian authorities have reportedly launched an inquiry into the incident.
Just last month, an Egyptian man was attacked by a lion during a circus show, while in Saudi Arabia, a young boy was bitten by a wolf at a wild animal exhibit at a shopping mall.
