Three Arrested in Saudi Arabia Presenting $700K Gifts to Kuwaiti Journalist

A video clip of Kuwaiti journalist receiving valuable perfumes has gone viral on social media.

Three people were arrested on Monday for presenting gifts to a Kuwaiti journalist, posing as officials from the Saudi Royal Court.

It was later found that the trio was part of a gang, involved in the production and manufacturing of counterfeit perfumes. They had convinced media outlets that they were office bearers. The gift they offered the journalist was worth 3 million Saudi riyals.

A video clip of the Kuwaiti women journalists, currently in Saudi Arabia, receiving valuable perfumes had gone viral on social media.

 

 

 

The three arrested include Saudi national Abdullah Saleh Hammad Al Mutairi, Lebanese national Nather Nabieh Hani, and Mateen Ahmed from India, SPA reported.

On inspection, several boxes of counterfeit perfumes were found. The defendants informed the journalists that they worked with official departments, hoping to exploit them for personal gains.

The authorities have begun the procedure of unravelling all circumstances, and have notified the public prosecution to complete the necessary steps.
