Palestinian refugee Saad al-Jamal on Thursday showed off a couple of adorable lion cubs he recently purchased from the Rafah Zoo.

The zoo, located on the Gaza Strip, is home to the two-month old cubs' parents. The two older lions are believed to have been smuggled into Gaza about three years ago through tunnels along the Egyptian border.

Al-Jamal is raising the two cubs — Mona and Alex — at his home in the al-Shabora refugee camp with his children and grandchildren.

Mona and Alex enjoyed a day out and about playing with the younger members of al-Jamal's family Thursday.
